MCI Innsbruck

B.A. Management, Communications & IT

Thesis submitted in June. Degree in September 2026.
Where strategy meets tech. Project work with real companies from day one.
And the next thing is already lined up.
Exchange semester in Japan

I picked the semester for the courses. AI, entrepreneurship, tech, all of it on the list. First class, first sentence: no AI, no internet, no digital hardware. What we got were cases from ten years ago.

So the value was somewhere else entirely. It was the people. Everyone was in the same situation, and you get to watch how differently people from all over the world go at the same problem.

The dorm was on campus, far outside the city, and that is where I got properly productive. Thesis, project after project, a run club I tried to get going, and the Strava achievements around campus became a real addiction. Weekends somewhere between Kyoto and Tokyo. One winter we rented a van, chased belly-deep powder and lived on sushi and ramen. Beijing genuinely surprised me, far more forward-thinking than I expected.

Turns out constraints push you forward.

Built change-request classification and incident pattern recognition. Both went live.
The tech was the easy part. Getting people to change how they work is what actually takes time.
Garbage in, garbage out. Choosing the right data and process matters most.
